New Tires

Spent part of Monday checking prices and recomendations for tires. Finally decided on B.F. Goodrich Commercial T/A M+S E rated. Rather than get the exact same tire (Michelin LTX M+S) The BFG's were a little less money, and actually made by Michelin in the end (They own BFG) Got help from Gary and Mike at Bergey's Truck Tire Service on Penn Street in Franconia. Dropped RoadAbode off Monday Night - And she was ready by Tues Morning. Drop off/and pickup was easy with RoadToad tagging along....literally.

Checkup for RoadAbode

It's time for RoadAbode's annual "Checkup" - Yup - PA State Inspection Time
So after work I drove up to the Storage Place, pulled RoadAbode out, hitched up RoadToad behind and Headed to Bergeys Truck Center in Franconia, PA . Techs are friendly, and seem competent. The ride was nice, even though some of those country roads are pitch black. It was great just taking my time and catching wiffs of woodfires in the fireplaces of homes we passed. Once at Bergey's parked next to two garbage trucks (in for service) and
saw some really nice A Class motorhomes too. Besides the inspection, having oil changed, coolant flushed, and checking belts and hoses. Ride home was quicker - less traffic - but not s fun as driving RoadAbode! Will pick 'er up tomorrow if she's ready.

RoadAbode's "Valve Replacement"

After work today, drove RoadToad up to RoadAbode, hooked her up and took RoadAbode for her appointment @ Bergey's Commercial tire center in Hatfield. I had purchased an extended valve set from the Tire Man, who created these sets so you can 'air up' dually tires more easily. Dual wheels are notorious for being difficult to check tire pressure & add air. By keeping the right tire pressure in RoadAbode's tires, I'm keeping the family safer. Direction/maps by Google were right on the mark, and I unhooked Road Toad and moved her away from the main truck area when I got there. Met up with Mike in the service area, and handed over the keys once we moved RoadAbode away from the bays, and made sure Mike saw/understood the valve kit. Will be picking RoadAbode up tomorrow when she's all valved, tires balanced, and ready to go.
